The Keelung Mid-Summer Ghost Festival began in 1855. It is now the largest ghost festival in Taiwan. It was the first festival to be designated as a cultural asset by the government in the “Important Folklore” category. The festival lasts for about one month.

The "Yunlin International Puppet Theater Festival" includes diverse activities, such as the opening concert, closing-Golden Palm Award Ceremony, performances by living national treasures, oral dialogue creative competitions, and artists’ trip with the puppets.

Taiwan is home to more than 686 bird species, or about 7% of the world’s total. The "Taiwan's Rice Heaven-Tianzhong Marathon" began in 2012. It is popular with both local and foreign runners, and is rated as one of the top three classic races in Taiwan.

The Sun Moon Lake Fireworks Festival features the arts, music, sports, leisure, and local industry and culture. It revolves around two main events: Come!BikeDay and a large-scale outdoor concert accompanied by a fireworks display. The events attract many visitors.

Nantou has eight major tea regions and is Taiwan’s main tea producing area. Through exhibitions, sales fairs, and performances, tourists can experience and learn about tea. Several large-scale themed activities are also held. These include tea parties, picnics, and other gatherings for thousands of people. These events help promote Nantou’s diverse and rich tea culture.

The "Nuit Blanche" concept began in Paris, France in 2002, and the Taipei City version has been held since 2016. Via a diversity of visual and performance arts, visitors can interact with art in a natural way as they shuttle through the urban space.

ART TAIPEI, Taipei International Art Fair, invites galleries from home and abroad to participate in its exhibition every year. The sharing of important works promotes the arts and national collections.

The Kunshen Wangye's Salt for Peace Festival combines sandflat landscapes with local traditional “Wangye belief” culture. The region’s unique salt culture is the focus of the event. Visitors to the festival can gain a better understanding of Taiwan's folk beliefs and salt industry culture.

In the Amis language, "pasiwali" means “going to the east.” The sun rises in the east, and many of Taiwan’s indigenous people were born in the eastern part of the island. This was why the festival was named “Pasiwali.” It features the music of indigenous peoples from Taiwan and abroad. In addition to song and dance performances, the festival offers visits to tribal buildings and open-air markets. The festival allows visitors to learn about and enjoy the multicultural features of the indigenous peoples.
